Thanksgiving is a great day! Family, food and football: what could be better? Christmas and New Year’s Day are right around the corner loaded with fun, festivity and feasting.
The six-week long holiday season, Thanksgiving to New Year’s Day, promises joyful reunions, presents, family gatherings, holiday parties and renewal of hope and personal resolutions – or at least it should.
If you find the holiday season more stressful than joyful, if you are one of the many who gain an average 6 to 11 pounds during these 40 days and then take 40 weeks to lose it, than you NEED
That Gym Guy’s Fitness Survival Plan.
First step is to create a positive mindset regarding the holidays. Recognize that there are many factors out of your control. For example: the weather, your mother-in-law, your goofy sister and unexpected work requirements can all make you anxious. Worrying about these things only causes stress and emotional angst. What you are worrying about might not even happen! A better approach is to set your mind to deal with any unusual situation or problem when, and if, they occur rather than thinking of every weird thing that could go wrong and stressing out beforehand.
You will be faced with a lot of opportunities to overindulge and feel bad afterwards as you pull your fat clothes out of the closet. A better strategy is to have a game plan in place for each event.
Step One: Keep your exercise routine intact no matter what! Do extra the day before and the day after the party.
Step Two: Limit alcohol consumption. Drink two waters for every alcohol beverage you consume.
Step Three: Only eat the main course. The stuff before and after does the damage.
Step Four: Talk a lot! If you are talking you aren’t eating or drinking. I know it sounds funny, but it really works.
Step Five: Keep moving. It is hard to eat on the run.
Step Six: Smile. Enjoy the time of year and remember: find time for yourself and the most important people in your life. You WILL make it through the holiday season healthier, happier and more fit!
Don’t forget: there is still time to make a donation to the Wounded Warrior Project. Check out my website www.thatgymguy.com or go to www.pushupsforcharityri.com to donate! Every cent donated will support our men and women in the armed services that have been severely injured. Thank you for your generosity!

Woah! I’m really loving the template/theme of this site.
It’s simple, yet effective. Plenty of times it’s
very hard to obtain that “perfect balance” between user friendliness
and visual appeal. I must say you’ve done a awesome job using this type of.
Additionally, the blog loads extremely fast for me personally
on Chrome. Outstanding Blog!
