“About 3 years ago, I was playing a game on the Wii with my 3 year-old nephew-the challenge-essentially jumping rope. After just 4 jumps I was winded and it was a wake up call…being winded at age 41, meant I really needed to get off the couch, especially if I wanted to be able to keep up with my nephew. I started working out at the gym. After about a year and a half, I felt that I’d maxed out what I could do on my own. With winter approaching I was worried about falling victim to the temptation of rolling over and staying in bed where it’s warm and cozy instead of walking to the gym. So I decided I needed someone to hold me accountable for going and challenging me with new exercises to push beyond where I was.
Every morning I’d see Al working with clients; he was always smiling and laughing so I thought that perhaps he could be the person to help me achieve more with my workouts. After talking with Al about my goals and commitment to working out, we started training together. I could feel myself getting stronger and doing things I never thought I would be able to do. Not only has Al been a great trainer, pushing me to new heights, but he’s also been a great friend and shoulder to lean on during some tough times.
When he told me about the upcoming boot camps, I said it sounded interesting but wasn’t sure if I was up for it. He assured me that I was ready for the challenge. So I agreed to try out the first one and I’ve been hooked ever since. Daily exercise is now an integral part of my life. I look forward to starting my day with a workout and feel so fantastic every time a reach a new personal milestone-like doing full push ups (I would have laughed and thought it impossible 3 years ago). I am thankful for Al’s friendship and his challenging me to just keep moving because if I can do it-anyone can.”
